Experiment on individual and collective decision making processes by the “Science of Intelligence” Cluster of Excellence (TU) and the Max Planck Institute for Human Development
This experiment by the research center of “Adaptive Rationality” investigates in a playful and informative way how visitors make judgments and how they incorporate the judgments of others. The experimental setup invites visitors to observe pictures of animal groups and provide a judgment of the number of animals in these groups. Next, visitors will observe the judgments of previous visitors and can make a second judgment. The experiment investigates whether and when incorporating the judgment of others is beneficial or detrimental. In doing so, visitors contribute to an ongoing research project and become informed on research on human decision making in an engaging manner.
