Experimental setup on individual and collective decision-making processes of the Cluster of Excellence ‘Science of Intelligence’ (TU) and the Max Planck Institute for Human Development
This experiment by the ‘Adaptive Rationality’ research group examines in a playful and informative way how visitors make judgements and how they incorporate the judgements of others. The experimental setup asks visitors to look at pictures of groups of animals and make a judgement about the number of animals in these groups. The visitors then observe the judgements of the previous visitors and can make a second judgement. The experiment investigates whether and when including the judgement of others is advantageous or disadvantageous. In this way, visitors contribute to an ongoing research project and are informed about research into human decision-making in an engaging way.
